A FEW clicks on the Consumer Council for Water’s (CCWater) water meter calculator could help prevent thousands more households from pouring money down the drain
Water customers across England and Wales are being urged to join the thousands of households who have already used CCWaters online calculator to see whether making the switch to a water meter could add up to big savings.
About 50 per cent of customers who use the calculator have been able to identify possible savings from making the switch to a meter.
Since its launch last April, the water watchdog’s easy-to-use calculator has helped nearly 25,000 water customers identify potential savings on their water bill totalling about £4.8million.
And with water bills having increased by an average of £13 last month there has never been a more prudent time for households to make use of the calculator, which features the latest 2013/14 metered charges.
Our water meter calculator can be accessed via a wide range of platforms including smart phones and tablets. People without internet access can simply contact a CCWater representative on 0121 345 1000 who will provide assistance.
Dame Yve Buckland, Chair of CCWater, said: “With 2013/14 water bills having increased by an average of £13 last month and with many consumers seeking ways to make savings, a look at CCWater’s water meter calculator could be the way to reduce water consumption and save money”.
