Mike Keil is CCW's new permanent CEO.

CCW is delighted to confirm Mike Keil’s permanent appointment as the consumer watchdog’s Chief Executive.

Mike took the reins on an interim basis last October after the departure of former CEO Emma Clancy, following her three years at the helm.

He has been with CCW for the past seven years having previously served as the organisation’s Head of Policy and Research, later rising to Senior Director of Policy, Research, and Campaigns.

After a thorough and open recruitment process, I am delighted to confirm Dr Mike Keil as our permanent CEO. He will lead the organisation through the next crucial period of change and development for our organisation.

There is a considerable amount to do on behalf of water consumers and I know that Mike’s vast experience and calm voice will be an important one for the sector. The water industry is facing some significant challenges – whether that’s rebuilding trust in water companies’ environmental performance or ensuring water bills are affordable for everyone – and the voice of the customer needs to be heard. Mike and I have plans to ensure that’s exactly what happens.

Rob Wilson, Chair of CCW

I’m absolutely delighted to be leading the fantastic team at CCW on a permanent basis. There’s never been a more crucial time for a strong consumer voice in the water sector. Everyone at CCW is focussed on working with the sector to restore trust and the current price review is an important step in that process. Reliable, sustainable and affordable water and sewerage services are a necessity, not a luxury.
